Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • As part of the submission process, authors are required to verify that their submission complies with all of the following items:
  • The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, this must be justified in "Comments to the Editor".
  • Submission files are in Microsoft Word or OpenOffice format (file size cannot exceed 2MB).
  • URLs for references have been provided when available.
  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in the Guidelines for Authors on the About the Journal page.
  • As part of the submission process, authors must register to gain access to the journal.
  • Submissions that do not comply with the guidelines will be returned to the authors.
  • Authors must ensure that their submission complies with all of the elements listed in the general guidelines. Submissions that do not comply with the rules will be rejected and/or returned to their authors. Manuscripts that meet the following requirements will be accepted:
  • a. The article strictly follows the technical and bibliographic requirements of this Journal.
  • b. The article has not been previously published or submitted for review in another journal (if not, please explain to the editor).
  • c. The submission file must be in Microsoft Word or OpenOffice format.
  • d. The title of the article, as well as the name(s) of the author(s) must not be in capital letters when added to the metadata.
  • e. The appropriate URLs must be included in the references provided (if extracted from the Internet).

Author Guidelines

As part of the submission process, authors must register to access the journal.

Please note: The ORCID attribution is not the responsibility of the editors of this journal. The ORCID registration must be done by the author. If you have any difficulty assigning your ORCID, find the guidelines in this guide here.

As part of the submission process, the journal informs that all articles are checked using the Plagius and AntiPlagiarism.NET software. If there is a major indication of plagiarism, the manuscript will be immediately rejected, but the one with the lowest plagiarism index will be returned to its author for due revisions.

Authors must ensure that the submission complies with all the elements mentioned in the general rules. Submissions that do not comply with the rules will be rejected and/or returned to their authors. Manuscripts that meet the following will be accepted:

The article strictly follows the technical and bibliographic requirements of this Journal. The article has not been previously published or submitted for review in another journal (if not, please explain to the editor).

The submission file is in Microsoft Word format.

The title of the article, as well as the name of the author(s) should not be in capital letters when added to the metadata.

The appropriate URLs should be included in the references provided (if extracted from the internet).

The text should have single line spacing; font size 12; italics are used instead of underlining (except for URLs);

All illustrations, figures and tables are placed in the appropriate places in the text, and not at the end of the document.

Academicus Magazine works with Open Journal Systems (OJS), and follows the Publication Guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA 7th edition) as they comprise a writing style and formatting, specifically aimed at scientific articles in the multidisciplinary field.

All texts submitted for review and eventual publication in the journal must meet the following criteria:

  • Identification of authors: The identification of authors will be uploaded to the platform as a supplementary file following the model for declaration of authorship and conflicts of interest proposed by the journal.
  • Article title: In the author's language and also in the other two languages ​​of the journal (depending on the case, Spanish, Portuguese, English).
  • Abstracts: Between 200 and 250 words.
  • Article text: It is suggested that they follow the structure Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion and Conclusion, References.

The text may be written in Portuguese, English or Spanish. Abstract should be included or replaced by the summary only when in English.

 

  • Article length: between 6000 and 7000 words. A small extension will not be permitted. In the case of review studies, texts of up to 8000 words will be accepted.

Formatting: The font used throughout the text must be Times New Roman, 12-point size, and paragraphs must be justified on both margins, which must all be 2.5 cm.

  • Line spacing must be single-spaced, and the first line must be indented by 1.25 cm. Titles must be in bold and lowercase letters, and captions must be in bold and italic.
  • Use a 1.25 cm left margin indent for the first line, with exceptions when requested.
  • Long direct quotations, with more than three lines, must be highlighted with a 4 cm indent from the left margin, in smaller font size 10 and without quotation marks.
  • The manuscript must be submitted in digital and editable format in Microsoft Word file extensions, with numbered lines and continuous, that is, continuing from one page to the next.

Citations:

Direct quotations in the text, with up to three lines, must be contained in double quotation marks and page number(s) indicated. Direct quotations in the text, with more than three lines, should be highlighted with a 4 cm indent from the left margin, with 10 pt font and without quotation marks, using single line spacing.

Academicus Magazine uses the APA Standard (7th edition). Full reference (in the list of references):
